The Moreno Valley Citizens’ Academy is your opportunity to go behind the scenes of City Hall and discover how local government works. This free, six-week interactive program invites residents and business owners to engage directly with City staff and learn about the departments, services, and decision-making processes that help shape the future of Moreno Valley. By the end of the program, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how the City operates—and how citizens play a role in shaping Moreno Valley’s future.

Due to overwhelming interest to the first session, there is now a wait list to fill spots for the second and third sessions of the program. This approach lets us continue building momentum while ensuring a fair and organized selection process.

Program Details
Summer 2026 Session
- Duration: June 10 - July 15, 2026
- Schedule: Wednesdays, 5 pm – 7 pm
- Location: See Weekly Schedule
- Eligibility: Moreno Valley residents and business owners age 18+
- Cost: Free — Funded by the Moreno Valley Community Foundation
- Capacity: Limited to 20 participants

Public Safety (Police, Fire, and Emergency Management) and Graduation Ceremony
NOTE: Sequence of weekly topics is subject to change in order to accommodate staff schedules and availability.
Friendly Reminders
- To receive a certificate, participants must attend at least five of the six sessions.
- Program materials will be provided at each session.
- Dinner and refreshments will be served, funded by the Moreno Valley Community Foundation.
