For immediate release: October 28, 2020

M lit blue

Moreno Valley's iconic M on Box Springs Mountain will be lighted blue tonight for National First-Responders Day to thank first-responders for their service to our community and nation.

"It's a privilege to recognize the first-responders in our community," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "Day and night they stand ready to confront any emergency and any threat to the safety of our residents. Lighting the M is a small token of our deep appreciation of our brave first-responders."

The M on Box Springs Mountain is lighted almost nightly for various holidays and special recognitions. A calendar explaining why the M is lighted a particular color is on the City website at moval.org/mschedule.
