City Honored for Consistent Support for Veteran-Owned Businesses

In recognition of its consistent support for veterans and veteran-owned small businesses, the City of Moreno Valley has been honored by the Southwest Veterans' Business Resource Center with its "Skin in the Game Award." The award was accepted by Mayor Pro Tem Victoria Baca, who also recorded welcoming remarks for the organization's 9th Annual Veteran and Small Business Virtual Summit, an event the City has hosted in person in the past.

"Moreno Valley is proud of the fact that we are a very veteran-friendly city," said Dr. Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley. "Veterans contribute greatly to the community, including the business community."

"In Moreno Valley, we have deep respect for our military veterans," explained Mayor Pro Tem Baca, whose father and grandfather served in World War II and World War I, respectively. "It's our privilege to be of support to them in any way we can."

 


La Ciudad es Honrada por el Apoyo Constante para los Negocios de Veteranos de Moreno Valley

En reconocimiento a su constante apoyo a los veteranos y los pequeños negocios de veteranos, la Ciudad de Moreno Valley ha sido honrada por el Centro de Recursos de Negocios de Veteranos llamado “Southwest Veterans 'Business Resource Center” con su premio "Skin in the Game Award". El premio fue aceptado por la Vice Alcaldesa Victoria Baca, quien también registró comentarios de bienvenida para la Novena Conferencia Virtual Anual de Veteranos y Pequeños Negocios de la organización, un evento que la Ciudad ha organizado en persona en el pasado.

"Moreno Valley está orgulloso del hecho de que somos una ciudad muy amigable para los veteranos", dijo el Dr. Yxstian Gutiérrez, Alcalde de Moreno Valley. "Los veteranos contribuyen mucho a la comunidad, incluyendo la comunidad empresarial".

"En Moreno Valley, tenemos un profundo respeto por nuestros veteranos militares", explicó la Vice Alcaldesa Baca, a quien su padre y abuelo sirvieron en la Segunda Guerra Mundial y la Primera Guerra Mundial, respectivamente. "Es un privilegio para nosotros apoyarlos en todo lo que podamos".
