Cycle 3 & 4 Pedestrian and Bicycle Enhancement

Construction is nearing completion on this project, which will remove and reconstruct Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant access ramps and sidewalk, as well as installing pedestrian push buttons and constructing other related street improvements. As a cost saving measure, the project was designed in-house, by Capital Projects Division staff. The selected project locations are identified and prioritized in the City’s Public Right of Way Access ADA Transition Plan. There are total of twenty nine (29) ramps to be constructed at the following locations:

  • John F. Kennedy Drive and Legendary Street 3
  • Bay Avenue and Pecan Place 3
  • John F. Kennedy Drive and Blueberry Road 2
  • Eucalyptus Avenue and Edgemont Drive 2
  • Heacock Street and Bay Avenue 4
  • Heacock Street and Dracaea Avenue 4
  • Eucalyptus Avenue and Kochi Drive 2
  • Wordsworth Road and Boccaccio Court 3
  • Athens Drive and Spring Crest Road 3
  • Los Cabos Dive and Plaza Sonada Way 3

Also, sidewalks will be constructed along Graham Street and Indian Street. Bicycle lanes will be striped on Indian Street from Alessandro Boulevard to Cottonwood Avenue. The total cost of the project is approximately $650,000.
