Auto Mall Improvements

The City of Moreno Valley received the Southern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) 2012 Project of the Year Award for the Auto Mall Improvements project.  The award was bestowed upon the City for the “Auto Mall Transformation - A Redevelopment Agency Business Attraction Plan” project which encompasses both the freeway pylon sign (Phase I) and the street and landscape improvements (Phase II).  The project team accepted the award on behalf of the City at the APWA Southern California Chapter’s Annual Awards Luncheon on December 12, 2012.

The finished freeway pylon sign with a modern LED digital display is nearly 100’ tall and beckons motorists along the SR60 freeway to stop and shop at the Moreno Valley Auto Mall.

Southern entrance improvements include the installation of native drought tolerant plants, drip system, new palm trees, hidden spot lights for evening visual enhancements, and a new energy-efficient backlit electronic dealership sign.

The Moreno Valley Auto Mall northern entrance includes new pedestrian sidewalk, ADA compliant ramp, vehicle display exhibit pads, native and drought tolerant plants, hidden drip system for water conservation, new energy-efficient backlit electronic dealership sign, and many more visual improvements to entice the consumers to purchase their next car from the Moreno Valley Auto Mall.
