Community & Economic Development Department (CEDD)

The Community & Economic Development Department provides a variety of development, business, and neighborhood services directly related to enhancing the quality of life in Moreno Valley.

The Community Development function provides development services and quality control through four divisions - Planning Division, Building & Safety Division, Land Development Division and Code & Neighborhood Services Division. Community Development administers development review and project entitlement activities, performs long range planning involving land use and community growth, and maintains the City's general plan. It also performs building plan review and field inspection, and issues building and related permits. Community Development administers a comprehensive code compliance program, in cooperation with the police, fire, public works and environmental health departments.

The core mission of the Economic Development function of the department is to facilitate new investment and development in the community. Economic Development Administration and the Neighborhood Preservation Division stand ready to provide a variety of economic development, redevelopment and housing-related services to help businesses and residents realize economic prosperity and enjoy an exceptional quality of life.
